Hello world and wellcome to my wine blog!
I’m Valentin Bufolin and I’m a passionate wine lover from Slovenia. I enjoy tasting wine, discovering its aromas and flavours and learning as much as I can from it.
My professional journey began recently by becoming sommelier. Since I’m still “fresh” I’ll try to give as much information as I’ll find and try to be as much impartial as I can be. Part of the reason I’m starting this blog is also to see and follow my learning progress.
The main purpose of this bog is to introduce you to Slovene wine, winemakers, our wine culture, wine history… I’ll also try to introduce you to our wine regions and explain the specific terroirs so that the information given will be as much useful as it can be.
The idea for this blog came out from a conversation with a good friend of mine – Jure Čuhalev, who works at Zemanta. We couldn’t think of someone who is writing a blog about Slovene wines in English… so here we are. Hope you’ll enjoy the reading as much as I’ll enjoy blogging.

Hi I just found your blog and really enjoyed it. I had the chance to visit your beautiful country in march 09 and it was a fantastic experience. I met some very interesting winemakers and saw the wineries of Movi, Sutor, Rojac and Klinec. It would be great if we could exchange some information about Slovenian wines

Hi Valentin !
I more than liked it. Ljubljana was a fantastic city. Very relaxed atmosphere and what I saw of the countryside was impressive too. I loved the food too. I hope to be able to go back soon. Will drink one of the bottles I brought back from Rojac this evening.
