Let’s return to Edvard Reya at the Emeran Reya winery to taste their Brut nature sparkling wine. A Blanc de Blancs cuvée consisting of 60 % Chardonnay and 40 % Rebula produced by the classical method.
Grapes come from vineyards that count between twenty and thirty years and are planted at approximately fifty meters above sea level. The basic wine was fermented in stainless vats for a year and was then bottled for the prise de mousse. After two years of maturation, it was disgorged and topped up with the same wine.
This results in a wine with brilliant, lemon yellow colour with a golden hue. In addition, we observe numerous, medium-sized and persistent pearls.
Its aromas are intense, ripe and reveal dried apple and pineapple slices, mango, dry orange peel. As well as yellow rose petals. With scents of bread crust, and a slight note of resin at the end.
A bone dry sparkling wine where acidity stands out, and bubbles tingle us pleasantly. The finish is mineral and intense. A sparkling wine with structure and long, elegant persistency.
An ideal wine for the coming festivities. A bottle will cost you approximately 17 Eur, and you can order it at RR Selection.
