We are moving back to Matej and Tina to the sunny slopes of Korte, where this Malvazija grows. We’re at the Korenika & Moškon wine cellar to have a look at their biodynamically farmed Malvazija fermented in stainless steel vats.

Grapes are hand-picked from vineyards Kalcinar, Bankina and pod Vuki. Before pressing berries, macerate for 48 hours. Fermentation is spontaneous, and the wine matures for 11 months in stainless steel vats only to be then bottled with coarse filtration.

This results in a Malvazija with crystal clear, strawy yellow colour with a golden tinge.

The bouquet is expressed, luxurious. We distinguish mango, papaya, hints of apricot, acacia, honey, rosemary and thyme, with a slight perception of saffron.

The taste is soft, noticeably warm. However, its crisp freshness and minerality help balance the taste—a wine with accentuated elegance, structured with a lasting aftertaste.

An ideal wine for starters that will please for the next two to three years. A bottle will cost you approximately 11 Eur, and you can order it at their website, Koželj, TuamV, Okusi Istre, Lokalo, Raw wine, Wine style and Sloveense wijnen.
