We’re returning to Joško Renčel, to the village of Dutovlje, to taste his expressive Pinot noir, a variety that Karst and Joško impact a character and expression that is quite unique.

Joško produces this Pinot noir with quite a courageous spirit. The Karst Bora is known to be harsh, but on the other hand, the red soil Jerina impacts depth to the wine. Really ripe grapes, extended maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeast, then maturation in oak imprints the wine with courageous and respectful elegance.

This results in a clear, ruby red colour with a dense texture.

Its aromas are accentuated and fine. We notice roasted plums, blackberries and mulberries, supported by violets. Notes of cedar are joined by forest undergrowth, eucalyptus, leather and the perception of roast.

The taste is soft and noticeably warm, its acidity acts lively, and the tannins are velvety. An elegant wine with a full-bodied structure, intense and long-lasting taste.

It is a wine that gives excellent pleasure now, but it will only evolve in the following five to seven years. A bottle will cost you approximately 50 Eur, and you can order it at BeWines.
