Let’s return to the Štoka family tonight, as we set on to taste their expression of Vitovska grganja, a traditional variety that grows on the slopes of this red soiled land. A variety you should definitely look for.
This wine has been produced from selected grapes after destemming and crushing the pomace macerated for up to five days in stainless vats at controlled temperatures. After a gentle pressing, the must fermented in stainless vats and matured on fine lees for the next year, to be then bottled.
Vitovska grganja is a dense wine with crystal clear, golden yellow colour.
Its bouquet is sophisticated and reveals maturation on fine lees. Ripe yellow fruit, Jonagold, pineapple, lemon, yellow grapefruit, and a note of straw, honey, hot limestone.
It is soft and warm in the mouth. Acidity stands out and leaves a particularly mineral aftertaste. A wine of intensity, full-bodied, with pronounced elegance and a long-lasting aftertaste.
It is a wine that will spoil you with its aromatic profile and refresh you. It is excellent for drinking now and will last for the next three to five years. A bottle will cost you approximately 9,5 Eur, and you can order it at Koželj and First good wine.
