Tonight we’re returning to the Fornazarič family to taste their freshly released Malvazija. A wine produced to express the variety in its best.

Grapes are coming from one grassed vineyard that was planted in 2014. Hand harvest was executed in September. After destemming and crushing, the mash macerated for five hours at controlled temperatures. Finally, it was gently pressed and recked in stainless vats with fine lees to ferment and mature for six months. After proper bottle ageing, it was released to the market.

This Malvazija displays a crystal clear, strawy yellow colour with a golden tinge and fairly dense texture.

The bouquet is refined, reveals the variety we’re tasting. We detect hints of yellow apple, pineapple, carambola, orange peel, acacia flower and almonds.

The taste is intense, soft with just the right amount of freshness and minerality to balance perceptions. In the aftertaste, we notice primarily tropical fruits, acacia flowers and almonds.

An elegant wine, fairly structured with moderately lasting persistency, refreshing us in just the right way to excite a desire for more.

A bottle will cost you approximately 8 Eur, and you can order it at Koželj, Vinoteka Sodček, TuamV, Enotheque, Greenpapa and Fina Slovina.
