We’re cruising through the picturesque slopes of Brda tonight and stopping in the village of Neblo, where the Kristančič family has been crafting their wines under the brand Zanut. Tonight we’ll look at their expression of a classically produced Cabernet Sauvignon.

Grapes have been hand-harvested at optimal ripeness after destemming and crushing the pomace macerated for at least three weeks at temperatures below 28 °Celsius. Then, after a gentle pressing, the wine was racked into stainless vats where it matured for ten months, and after bottling, it waited at least three months in the cellar before meeting its consumers.

The glass displays a Cabernet Sauvignon with transparent, clear, ruby red colour.

Its intense aromas reveal ripe blueberry, cherry, dried chokeberry, dried grape berries and scents of dry laurel, with hints of minerality and spices.

The taste is dry, soft and warm. Freshness is ripe with silky, rounded tannins. An intense wine of reasonable persistency, full-bodied structure and elegance overall.

A Cabernet Sauvignon with the potential to age for the further three to five months. A bottle will cost you approximately 11 Eur, and you can order it at Be.Wine and Wevino.
