It is time we return to the Renčel family as there is a macerated cuvée we have to look at tonight. We’ll be tasting the Vincent Orange, a blend of Malvasia, Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Vitovska that matured in used oak barrels.

Vincent is one of the latest Cuvées that combines 30 % Malvazija, 30 & Chardonnay, 30 % and 10 % Vitovska to see the light of day at this famous winemaker. This wine is produced by grapes that grow at altitudes between 280 and 325 meters above sea level. After destemming and crushing, the pomace macerated for approximately 20 days with spontaneous fermentation.

The wine is then racked into used barrique barrels, where it matures for two years on fine lees. Malolactic conversion is performed thoroughly during this time, and finally, the wine is bottled without filtration.

The final result is a wine with golden yellow colour and a dense texture indicated by slowly slipping tears.

Its bouquet is luscious. We sense the scent of elderberry, oregano, yarrow. Slowly we detect a touch of apple, pineapple and persimmon slices that eventually lead into aromas of forest honey, tobacco, cedar and liquorice.

The taste is intense and soft. Acidity is intertwined with minerality and perceptible tannins. A full-bodied, elegant wine with a lasting aftertaste.

A wine of contemplation that expresses the spirit of Karst. A bottle will cost you approximately 21 Eur, and you can order it at Be.Wines, Fine Slovenian wine and La salvia.
