Jovanov winery was such a pleasant discovery. The setting – an inn with terraces overseeing the Cetinka vineyards, with the city of Blato in the background.
Matej Jovanov, a young oenologist with experience in New Zealand, after years of counselling, started his own winemaking story 3 years ago.
🥂Cetinka – an almost extinct variety originating from the proximity of Blato, with only 4 winemakers producing it was refreshing. With scents of green apple, lime, jasmine and almonds.
🥂Pošip – Matej’s pride. Intense aromas of tropic fruit, mixed with nectarine, lemon, candied orange and nutmeg. Refreshing and mineral.
🌸Rosé – a blend of Syrah and Plavac Mali with salmon colour and scents of melon, peach, cherry and almond flowers. Soft, warm, yet refreshing and vibrant.
🍷Cuvée – a marriage of 60% Plavac mali and 40% Syrah, boasts aromas of black cherry, ringlo, plum, violet, black pepper and a touch of butter, resulting from malolactic fermentation. Fresh, with just the right tannins to dry the palate and express a finish of black fruit and pepper.
